Home

Here are some images from my home kids drawings, collections of toys, artworks and my favorite cups. A constant source of inspiration and things that really just make me smile as I go about my day.
Everything we do is an installation, our homes, our studios, the way in which we interact with the world. I am always arranging and rearranging. The studio, the home and the assemblages I create.
My home is a changing landscape.....much like everything.

Frank Nowlan

Frank Nowlan is one of my favourite artist's. I have become a collector of his work. He is a local guy who took up painting when he retired from teaching in his early 60's. What I love about Frank's work is his wonderful naive, childlike style. It is refreshing and always a delight.
He is quite successful but remains humble and always interacts with humility, passion and excitement about his exploration's as an artist.

The Studio

I love being in the studio. It is a constantly changing space. I am forever arranging and rearranging. The creation of the space is an important aspect of the work process.

Whilst contemplating new ideas or work I find myself exploring little corners which are a treasure trove of nic-nacs, rusty metals, old jars of screws and nails, paper, scissors and thread.
People often give me treasures, every time new pieces come into the space a reshuffling takes place new ideas emerge and some fade away.

Industrial Found Object

I had an opportunity to work at the old glass factory site in Alexandria with some wonderful friends of mine. There were many treasures and the whole experience was quite inspiring.
I was reminded of my love of surface and texture, industrial spaces, collection and treasure hunting.

Acacia

I went for a long drive far and wide in search of the beautiful acacia flowers now I have found some the work begins.
I found some light yellow fluffy flowers at Yass they look a little bit like caterpillars, cadmium yellow pom pom's near Helensburgh and some dainty light yellow flowers near Canberra now the work begins.
